I'm still alive!!!

See, I even have I picture I just took on the webcam!

I never said it was a good picture, but one none the less. As you can see I chopped all my hair off!! I was getting tired of taking care of longer hair, this new style allows me to get a shower in about 30 minuites, including the time it takes to dry my hair, which proved useful this morning when I was just planning to wash my hair and get a shower after work (I wasn't really smelly or anything, but the hair needed washing) and our hand-held showerhead broke on me... Luckily my hubby was able to re-install the old showerhead and I just went ahead and took a quick shower.

I was amazed to still be on time getting out and everything and I still did my normal routine in the shower. And normal hair styling (yay-ness to no longer flipping your head over to dry your hair & get the same volume!). Simple put, I love it and it fits my life style.

Speaking of my hubby eariler, I can't believe it's almost been 2 whole years! It hasn't seemed like that long, but at the same time it seems like a lifetime already (in a good way). We've had our ups & downs, there were times when we've been very close that it seems like we just started dating, and there have been times when we were distant, dealing with work & bills. But I have never regretted marring this man, my best friend, my "sunrise", as he's been calling me since this morning when we woke up & started cuddling before the daily grind of working life.

Unfortunately, I don't have much in the way of knitting. I've been so caught up with the holiday & work. I have been taking to making candles! I bought a machine that will melt & pour the wax for you into molds. It only came with 1 mold, but I'm hoping to order others as these make really awesome candles! I'm hoping to set it up to pour wax into little tea cups and give them as gifts to my aunts who are into things like tea parties.

I've also taken to photography the past 2 years, and have set up a myspace page, http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewProfile&friendID=379390478, check it out, a lot of neat stuff on there. :)

Newest Project

Lil Green Hoodie - Lil Red Riding Hoodie Pattern
Lil Blue Riding Hoodie - Same Pattern

Sorry I've been a horrible blogger! Life's been crazy! For a while my hours were cut, but now that I have a new manager, she's been giving me more hours while giving me the weekends off like I want. Michael and I are talking about fixing up and moving into my grandparent's old house in Dayton. We won't decide anything until we help clean it out and see what the damage to the house is, I think it just has a lot of easy fixes, but we'll see!

Anyway, I've joined a knit group that meets up at the Library downtown, and I like it. Not as good as the first one I joined hosted by Angie, but it's still pretty fun. I'm excited about next Saturday being Stitch N Pitch!! I love stitch n pitch, and have been at the past 2. Mom and I have talked about coming up with a pattern for a knitted Gapper Doll and giving it to the Reds team as a good luck charm.

I have to get going, I need a shower and get to bed so I can be at work at 7 in the morning (which stinks when you've been working 2-11PM shifts for months).

VIDEO BLOG!!

I'm trying something new, blog entries! I really hope this works, because my first attempt didn't... I thought this would be easier than typing my entires out. It's easier and quicker than all the typing this otherwise would have taken. Also less pain to the wrists... I hope you all enjoy and let me know what you think!

PS - Sorry about the low volume and the lag that sometimes happens. I am using the camera & mic on my laptop, next time I may use a plug-in mic... :\

WASHCLOTHS!!!

I joined this KAL for 50+ washcloths, so guess what most people on my x-mas list are getting? Lol, but here are a few pictures I snapped of my first 3...

The first one is LOVE

Then there is my bunny cloth, don't worry, you won't hurt my feelings if you can't see him. I may make another one using a solid colored yarn. I've figured out that multi-colored yarns are better for simple knits and lace... But it was my very first cloth!

Then there is the garter lace, the latest one that I'm most proud of so far, I don't knit lace items so much, and when I do I usually just knit with bigger needles, but this one was fun and simple, and I love how the yarn striped like it did. I love the colors too! They remind me of spring and easter eggs! : )

I hope this makes up for not updating in forever! I've just been dealing with stuff at work that has left me drained on my days off, then I decided that I wouldn't let it bother me anymore. It's my new supervisor being power hungry and being stupid, and I shouldn't have to let her bring me down like she is wanting me to (I found out her 'personal mission' is to make me cry, though I'll never know why!). So hopefully I'll post more often, I'll have to to show off my washcloths to everyone I possibly can!

Trying Something New and Kind Of Scary... (But With Pictures!)

I'm going to try to learn to knit socks! Angela gave me my first sock yarn, Sockotta (45% cotton, 40% Superwash Wool, 15% Nylon) in 505, shown here (*Thinking of Phantom of the Opera as she says those last two words*)

Thanks Angela! ^_^ However, Walmart didn't have small enough needles in circular, so I went to my favorite yarn shop near Milford, Fiberge! However, I had just gotten my paycheck and couldn't resist getting some more sock yarn (it's been a while since I've felt like I could afford yarn!). So here is what all I bought, Addi Turbo needles in size 2

I'm so excited!!! I was looking around for summer-friendly yarn, and found Stork in the baby section of the store, I bought 2 skeins in red... (Or #12)

And I bought this bamboo/cotton/elastic yarn called Panda Cotton, which I am loving! It's so soft! I'm sure it will make kick-butt socks!

Hubby's sick with a cold today, but I'm sure after he sleeps some after food and medicine he'll feel much better. I started on my first sock(!), but I'm not far enough along to post a picture.

Update on Hubby

So he's been to 2 different doctors and neither think it was anything worst than fainting or a "complex migraine" (depending on which doctor you go with). He's on medicine for his migraines and I think it's a love-hate thing. He loves the fact that his headaches go away 2 seconds after he feels them, but I think they make him a bit sleepy. All in all nothing has happened since, which is a good thing...

Good News and a Nice Little Scare...

The good news, in october my hubby and I are going to......................... DISNEY WORLD!!!! We already have the airfare and boarding, we just need the tickets to the park itself. Tickets that we were thinking about buying today with our brand new paychecks, but then this nice little scare happened...

Michael was at work and had what seemed like a seizure at the time. He works with my mom, so she took him tothe emergancy room and his mom came and picked me up from the apartment. I'm glad I had today off. The doctor said he didn't think it was a seizure, because it only lasted about 10-15 seconds and Michael responded right away, saying he must have fell alseep, but they don't know what it is. So before Michael is allowed to drive anywhere he has to be checked out by a family doctor. Dad thinks it might have been a partial seizure, and a part of me thinks so too, but we'll see what the doctor says.

In the meantime, we're trying to figure out if Michael's school insurance will cover anything on the hospital bill and check up because we went to Anderson Mercy (*shudders*) instead of the university.

I hope all goes well, but in the meantime everyone is being nice and giving us rides to where we need to go. Luckily Michael has the next 3 days off, and I have the next 2.
